A beautiful golf experience just minutes away

Premier architect William S. Flynn designed our 18-hole course around a stunning plot of land. Built in 1925, it is tree-lined from start to finish, with water coming into play on 10 holes. Our gorgeous greens will challenge your skills and free you from the distractions of the day. Check out our entire course (link to golf gallery or flyover).

More Than A Game

While we love working on our swing, we think one of the greatest things about golf is how it brings people together—old friends and new ones. We make that a priority on our course. In addition to our warm, welcoming atmosphere, we offer many golf events to help new members make new friends.

Professional Golf Staff

On any Saturday or Sunday in season you can find—and even join—our pros on the course. Head golf pro Tony Hoover, PGA has been at Elyria for over 25 years. In addition to creating golf events and outings throughout the year, our golf staff offers lessons to help you improve your game in a way that’s comfortable for you.

Cart or Caddie?

Ride or walk, it’s up to you. However, the beauty of our course and the quality of our caddie program does sway many players into the 5-mile nature walk. Not only is it a breathtaking way to get your steps in, you can enjoy the support of our exceptional caddie program. We are proud to have multiple Evans Scholars and to contribute to the future success of so many young people.

Member Tournaments

Interested in tournament golf? Tournaments are always fun and a great way to meet people. No need to find your own foursome. We often run blind draws, selecting teams by handicaps and creating opportunities for people who haven’t played together.

Check our calendar for the next ECC member event.

We offer a fully stocked pro shop for all of your apparel and equipment needs. Featuring brands such as Titleist, Callaway, Taylormade, FootJoy & Cleveland Wedges.

Tony Hoover, PGA Head Golf Professional

If you’ve ever joined Tony for a round of golf or taken lessons from him, you’ve seen not just his passion for the game and his skill, but his belief that golf should be enjoyed, no matter what your skill level. That’s part of why he’s spent so much of his time at ECC—more than 25 years—creating new and fun ways to help people improve their golf game. Currently a PGA Member, Tony’s teaching philosophy is focused on using a player’s natural abilities and maximizing their current potential, while diagnosing issues they’re having on the course. Whether he’s helping organize a golf event or just enjoying the course, Tony creates an atmosphere and opportunities for members to meet new people and have fun.

Tony grew up in Elyria, Ohio. He is an Elyria Catholic and Cleveland State Graduate. Tony and his wife Megan are kept on their toes by their son Palmer.

Patrick Rodgers, Golf Course Superintendent

For all the times you’ve looked out over our gorgeous fairways and forgotten for a moment about your swing, your slice, or even the work that awaits you after your game, you have Patrick to thank. A 26-year member of the GCSAA and 20-year member of NOGCSA, Patrick has been keeping our course looking fantastic for more than 30 years. Starting at ECC in 1990 while he was attending The Ohio State University, Patrick became the 2nd Assistant in 1996 and then Superintendent in 2006. ECC golf is in his blood, as his great uncle, Ralph “Bunny” Rodgers, was our very first superintendent.

Patrick and his wife Danielle have two grown sons, and the couple’s two labs help keep the course free of geese.
